Description
Adako Jachie Technical Institute is a co-educational second-cycle technical school in Ejisu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school was established in September, 1978 by the Kwamo Community with the support and in collaboration with the Local government of Ghana. The school has been into three transitions, firstly, it was named Community Development Technical Institute (CoDTECH) and it later changed to Kwamo Technical Institute (Kwatech) and now Adako Jachie Technical Institute (AJATECH). However, academic work started in January 1979. Initially, the institute was administered by Local Government and the Community Members of Kwamo until January 2021; when the Community began to hand over the institute to the Ministry of Education precisely the Ghana TVET Service. Due to land ownership issues between Kwamo chief and Adako Jachie chief, the institution is expected to change the school's name to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Technical Institute, named after His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The renaming is expected to complete and take effect by the end of the year 2025. All arrangements has been fully done waiting for endorsement from the King himself.
